I set up the camera and changed the shatter speed. Then I used the glow sticks I brought to make different shapes and colours against the dark background. I did a couple to see what colours worked well and which do not and then I started to draws some things. For this I had to change the shatter speed to a bit slower so I had enough time the draw. I found it really hard to think of things to draw and I also found hard imagining what I was drawing. Some turned out quit well but some did not e.g. the stick man I did I think went well but the more complicated he image was the harder it was to draw on. After using the glow sticks I used my phone which can produce a light and I can change the colours. For this I had to change the settings on the camera because the light was brighter. I tried to make different shapes but it was really hard to draw.

After I had gotten some good images I wanted to see if I could use a person in the image as well and I had to take an image of the person then I had someone else with the light on my phone go behind the person and draw around the outline of the person. I thought these looked ok but I did preferred the others without the person. Then I tried to do the devil and the angle and they turned out quite good.

I think overall I liked the shoot and I think I got some good images but i didn’t think that drawing objects was going to be so difficult. I don’t think some of the images are very good but some did turn out good when I did a bit of editing.

This I created by drawing a man with the pink and purple glow sticks. I really like the different shades of purple and I like the way the stick man looks like its running. If I where to do it again, I would try and make it more realistic. When editing I increased the contrast and lightness of the light

This I used two images to create a complete circle. I really like the different colours and the shades the movement creates. I increased the contrast of the images and the brightness of the image

In the next shoot I think I’m going to see if I take an image in the dark and then using Photoshop see if I can creates some images like the images by Michael Bosanko. The images below are my inspiration and I hope to find out how he creates these amazing light arts.
