New Work Record for landscape kaliodscopes

Work record

I really want to go back and look at landscapes and I thought the best place would be somewhere with a lake so I will go to a marina and take images of the narrow boats, lake and nature around the marina. I want to go when it’s quit dark so the water is blue looking and dark.

Preparation:
  •        Get my camera
  •        Get someone to drive me up to the marina

My work from my close up shoot

Work Record

After shoot

I really thought the shoot went well and I think I got some really good images that I could create kaleidoscope images with. I did think while taking the images what would be the best way of creating the best kaleidoscopes so I tried all the ways I could think of e.g. the main subject across the shoot or I close up of the object that covered on side of the image. Overall I think the images came out how I wanted them to and I’m happy with the shoot.

When I got back to edited them, I found that when I used two images and repeated them twice each it turned out ok but when I just used one image and repeated it four times it turned out more like a kaleidoscope and I think they worked better.

I think the difference from the one image I took to the image that looks like a kaleidoscope is a very big difference and I think made the composition better.

This image I created using one image of a purple and orange flower and made to spread across the top left corner to the bottom right corner. I really like the way the four images put together creates and interesting pattern and that it looks like it has been reflected.

This one is my favorite images that I produced because of the colours, the patterns and the shapes. When editing I made the background black and white to show of the bright colours of the flower and I made the back ground blurry to.
These to images I created because I wanted to know if my original idea worked or the second. I think looking at the two images I think the second is the best one because it looks more like what I wanted to create and looks more like a kaleidoscope.
The first I created using two images and the second I creates by using only one. I think the second looks more like one image, where the top looks like four images suck together.

I changed the levels and curves using Photoshop for both of the images.

I think I will keep with the idea and maybe look at doing landscapes again but only use one image and repeat four times to see if it works as well for landscapes as it did for close ups.

I think I’m going to go to a lake and do the same thing and just get some interesting images to create the best images I can.

The images below are what I hope to achieve.

Kaleidoscopes close ups

23.11.12
Work record

I am continuing with the idea of kaleidoscopes but I want to investigate of it is possible to do close ups of objects and if they come out well or if the landscape is the better idea. I will be going outside and looking at nature and then I might look at peoples faces. Also I may see if I could but more then four images in one picture and also if I can use totally different images in one picture.

Preparation:
All I need is a camera so sign out a camera

I plan to go out for about an hour and test my idea and then I see if close ups work better then landscapes by looking at the finished images for both and comparing.
